1968 CHEVY 5.7 L - 1979 CHEVY 350 ENGINE -- BIG/SMALL BLOCK (Part #: CHV-350LB-2)

1968 CHEVY 5.7 L - 1979 CHEVY 350 ENGINE -- BIG/SMALL BLOCK (Part #: CHV-350LB-2) Description

The Chevy engine model # 350 is notoriously popular for its versatility and reliability. It provides consistent power and performance and is popular as a OEM Chevy crate engine, custom high-performance remanufacture engine upgrade and one of the most popular top-sellers. In this 68-79 engine compartment and exact fitment configuration it has lots to offer in both long block and short block applications/options.

This engine has been in production mainly between 1969-2000. It offers displacement or 350 in? (5.7 L) and power: 125-370 hp (93-276 kW). Some of its most memorable and popular applications include the 1969-1991 Chevrolet Corvette and the 1975 Chevrolet Monza.

This forms part of the first generation of Chevrolet small-blocks. Its proud history began with the 1955 Chevrolet 265 in? (4.3 L) V8. But, according to expert sources, it was the 350 in? (5.7L) series that set the standard for high performance (even today these are no exception!)

Some of the Chevy 350 engine's physical dimensions (oversquare 4.00 in bore and 3.48 in stroke, 102 mm by 88 mm) are nearly identical to the 400 hp (300 kW) LS2 engine of today, with some modifications and adjustments of course. Hands down it is unarguably the most widely used Chevrolet small-block. To present day it is installed in everything from station wagons to sports cars to heavy trucks and popular for many an automotive specialty, sports or racing application.
