| | GM CHEVROLET G2500 VAN ENGINES
These 'express' vans were known (still are!) for their aerodynamic bodies, long wheelbases, rugged ladder-type frame construction and big gross weight ratings. They need power under-hood to make them perform at their best. For all your repair, replacement, engine overhaul, upgrade or custom high-performance applications, we have quality GM complete engines, cylinder heads, remanufactured long blocks, engine short blocks for you to select your engine solution from.
Smaller standard engines on the Chevy G1500 and G2500 van engines delivered anything from:
(i) 195-hp 4.3-liter V6
(ii) 5.0-liter V8 that produces 220 hp at 4600 rpm and 280 lb.-ft. at 2800 rpm
(iii) 5.7-liter V8 that produces 245 hp at 4600 rpm and 325 lb.-ft. at 2800 rpm
(iv) optional 7.4-liter V8 that produces 290 hp at 4000 rpm and 410 lb.-ft. at 3200 rpm, or
(v) an optional 6.5-liter turbocharged diesel V8 that produces 190 hp at 3400 rpm and 385 lb.-ft. at 3400 rpm.
On the Chevrolet Express 2500 engines some of the most popular configurations include either a four cylinder, V6 or V8 configuration for maximum balance and power delivery.
V6, 3.4 L, 207 CID (91-93) FWD, DOHC, MPFI, 24 valve, block #450, head #472, crank #981, timing cover #443 or (96-98) FWD, DOHC, 24 Valve, T/C #222, even perhaps a 94-95 FWD, block #865, head #472, crank #981, DOHC, 24 valve, T/C #222. would be a solid choice to get the best from both your power plant and your vehicle, benefiting from and enabling what they were both designed to do and deliver!
For more power, opt for the powerful V8, 5.0 L, 305 CID (96-98 model years) on all C& K trucks and even vans, the Vortec GM crate OEM complete engines, or remanufactured long block engine solutions with all-new moving parts remain favorites.
Engine model numbers 134 and 207 seem to be the most popular for the budget-conscious consumer. Be sure to discuss your specific needs for engine parts, engines cores, long and short block applications and even high-performance or specialty applications with our GM in-house engine experts.
